About Nile Pioneers
A youth-led community helping Sudanese youth and young people affected by conflict keep learning and find opportunities.
Our mission
We connect young people with free learning, mentorship and opportunities to develop their skills.
Our vision
A future where young people can continue their education and contribute to their communities, wherever they live.
How we started
Nile Pioneers started in July 2026 as a page sharing scholarships and opportunities with Sudanese students whose education had been interrupted by war.
Within weeks it became a volunteer team. In August we ran our first free online workshop, on writing a professional CV. In September we brought together UWC and ALA graduates, a current ALA student and a member of the UWC national committee for a workshop on secondary-school scholarships for students from conflict areas. We launched a weekly English Club and a workshop on writing a book, and we keep sharing checked opportunities every week.
We are just getting started.

What we value
Who is accountable
Nile Pioneers is a youth-led initiative run by volunteers.
- Every program has a named team owner who is responsible for its applications, decisions and follow-up.
- Student records are private. Each staff member has a named account and sees only what their role needs, and every change is recorded in an activity log.
- Partnerships are agreed in writing before any support is accepted, and partners receive a report on what actually happened.
- Public numbers come from records and say where they came from.
